Well, the answer is simple and a little more serious than it sounds...

At our winery, during vintage time the winery can often reflect a madhouse and the StraitJacket series of wines are inspired by the essence of our unhinged winemakers. Winemakers, particularly serious winemakers, are not like the rest of us. Some are labeled delightfully eccentric when in truth they are barking mad. Others are called dedicated when compulsive might be a more appropriate word. Yet odd they are. It goes with the territory because to make a great wine, a winemaker not only has to source the highest quality grapes but also has to be more than a touch obsessive.
